I took up bridge at my local club in 2024, at 70, after almost fifty years as a software engineer. Two questions came up again and again: what does this bid mean, and why is this the card to play? The apps I tried told me what to bid or play, but rarely why.

So that same year I started building one that does: BridgeGuru. Its bidding follows the standard systems clubs play. The whys I learned along the way, from a great teacher and friend, from every resource I could find, and from my own games at the table. All of it went into how BridgeGuru explains the game.

My years as an engineer let me build it. My first years at the bridge table told me what it needed to say.
